M8 Lagoon Nebula by ZeSly M8 Lagoon Nebula by ZeSly
Lagoon nebula is one of the most easy to observe nebula in summer sky. I see it on almost all photos of the Milky Way I can see here and there. It is located in Sagittarius, low on the horizon, which does not facilitate the shooting.
Only 20 exposures of 5 minutes, the sky background was too high.

20 exposures of 5 minutes.

Great shot with very nice processing. I hope to get that level of detail out of my 1000D and telescope setup one day, but then of course your camera has had the UV/IR filter removed hasn't it?

Thank you ! :-)
Yes, my 1000D has its IR cut filter removed. I made it by myself : [link] It's mandatory if you want to get enough signal on H-Alpha nebulae.

Very tempted to have a go at doing that myself seeing as I have three DSLR's and my 1000D is basically sitting doing nothing these days. Thanks for the link.
